Liliane Lijn has lived in London since 1966. The Arts Council holds her work as well as numerous public commissions. Liliane Lijn's sculptures explore light and motion. At night, White Koan rotates and its elipses of neon are lit. The title of this sculpture is a pun on its shape and the Zen Buddhist concept of a koan - a question without an answer. This relates to meditation and the sculpture promotes peace, calm and thoughtfulness.
